It was the world's first household sewing machine with reversing stitches. The next generation of machines - 'ELNA 2' or 'Supermatic' was first shown in April 1952 in the Swiss industrial factory. The machine was simply called 'ELNA 1' or вЂњthe GrasshopperвЂќ and in addition to the above features, it was painted in an unusual green color of those years.
